So much Kibology it's all over you wordscreen!

I have begun feeling good recently! It's about time since my transplant was in March and my prostatectomy was in June.

I still have to deal with the BK virus, which could potentially ruin my kidney, but the doctor seems confident a positive outcome is very likely. I have to take some pills to balance the anti-rejection drugs and the anti-biotics. I also have to take a 5 month series of infusions that will mess with the BKV's DNA, making it less vicious. The only problem has been that each infusion costs $8,500 before insurance, so our co-pay would be $1,700 PER Injection, after insurance and Medicade!

After thinking of everything he could to make it possible to be able to afford it, he came up with an ingenious, devious plan. Each time I get an infusion, they will check me into the hospital, where I will get the infusion (probably 4 hours long), then they will release me right after they are done..That way, Medicade and my insurance will pick up the entire cost, and we will not have to pay anything, except for my wife having to take time off work to get me there and back.

I've been able to stand long enough to do the dishes and do a little cleaning and take the dogs outside to take care of business and run around in the back field. It doesn't sound like much, but it feels wonderful to be able to be up and around that long.
